The Unknown Rare Book on your Shelf!

I went to a used bookstore many decades ago because it was going out of business. When I got there everything was 70% off. I filled up two grocery bags full of decorative cloth publisher's trade bindings circa 1900. Got home cataloged most, put them in the right spot, alphabetically by designer, then by author. Years later an old friend who knew what I collected mailed me a dealer catalog, has a few illustrated. What to my surprise was one of those books. Turns out it was a famous book by Alice Dunbar, wife of Paul Laurence Dunbar, I had his books shelved not 3 feet away on the same level and never made the connection. She is considered the first female, African American short story author, hence it was for sale for only $3500. I got the book for 38 cents after the 70% discount.
